Dempsey’s at DAK

Dempsey’s Seafood & Steaks, a popular family-style restaurant in Kiln, has been running the kitchen at DAK Americas Pearl  River site for two years, serving breakfast and lunch to employees throughout Port Bienville Industrial Park. And if employees can’t get away from the job, Dempsey’s delivers meals to them inside the park.

Diane Hennessy, Dempsey’s owner, said the fully equipped DAK kitchen serves “anywhere from 50 to 80 people a day.” Delivery service is provided to SABIC, Polychemie and other sites. “They can call us and put in an order in the morning and we deliver it,” she said.

Dempsey’s offers loads of choices from the DAK kitchen: poboys, hamburgers, catfish or shrimp baskets and chicken dishes. “We provide a hot lunch bar with a daily special and drink for $7,” she said. There is also a full salad bar and a build it yourself nacho bar.

“We cook everything there,” Hennessy said. One exception is Dempsey’s popular baked macaroni, which is made at the restaurant.

The DAK kitchen is open from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Dempsey’s also offers catering services to Port Bienville tenants. On a recent Friday, about 100 DAK employees enjoyed a catered Christmas meal in their cafeteria.
