Gov. Bryant visits Port Bienville, tours Jindal Tubular

June 30, 2015

Port Bienville welcomed Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant to Hancock County last week as he toured Port Bienville Industrial Park and the new Jindal Tubular pipe manufacturing facility in Port Bienville.

Jindal Tubular Chief Executive Officer Rich Gilstrap provided Gov. Bryant with a tour of the pipe manufacturing process and briefed him on the steady growth of Jindal Tubular since their grand opening in August 2014, when the company purchased the assets of former port tenant PSL North America.

Jindal Tubular now employs nearly 200 people, more than doubling the facility's employment since beginning operations last year.

While visiting Port Bienville, Gov. Bryant also spoke to a group of local industrial executives about the growing opportunities for Hancock County's industrial economy.

"This industrial park is as fine of a facility as you'll find anywhere in the State of Mississippi," Gov. Bryant said. "What I see here today is tremendous opportunity - opportunity to continue to attract the type of high-paying manufacturing jobs that we want to land here in Mississippi and continue to build on the impressive set of companies who are already here operating."
