Coast Electric awards grant for Port Bienville development

KILN, MISS. – Coast Electric Power Association on Monday presented Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission with a $9,000 grant for site development at Port Bienville Industrial Park.

The grant was awarded through the Cooperative Energy’s Cooperative Competes program to be used for geotechnical surveys at Port Bienville Site 6.

Coast Electric CEO Ron Barnes, APR, and Vice President of Western Division Operations and Economic Development Guy Johnson, P.E., presented the award to Commission President Derek Necaise and CEO Bill Cotter.

“Economic development is a team effort,” Cotter said. “We appreciate the support of Coast Electric as we work together to grow opportunities and make Hancock County the best place to live.”
