Marriott’s Fairfield and TownePlace Suites Set to Debut in Waveland

WAVELAND, MISS: Marriott Hotels is set to establish its first presence in Waveland. Waveland Hospitality LLC, the development group behind the hotel project, plans to invest a minimum of $16M dollars and construct a dual brand concept featuring the Fairfield and TownePlace Suites brands. Located near the intersection of Highway 90 and Old Spanish Trail, this marks the first hotel development in Waveland in over two decades.

Hancock County Port & Harbor Executive Director/CEO Blaine LaFontaine remarks on the new development, Hancock County and the Gulf Coast continues to see growth in tourism including festivals, sports and events creating demand for beds in Hancock County.  The Port and Harbor Commission and our team has committed to supporting commercial development and recruitment on our key corridors and we are proud to support this project announced for the City of Waveland.”

The upcoming four-story hotel development will feature a minimum of 110 rooms with 55 rooms designated as Fairfield rooms, while the remaining 55 will be TownePlace rooms, with shared amenities such as breakfast and a coffee bar.

This development adds to the continued growth of Waveland, following recent retail announcements of Harbor Freight, Express Oil Change, and McAlister’s Deli joining the Highway 90 corridor.

The upcoming development will contribute to job creation in Hancock County and provide a modern hotel option for guests visiting the area.

Construction of the new hotel is scheduled to begin in spring 2024 and is expected to last for 18 – 24 months.
