Stennis International Airport and Airpark - Capital Improvements

HCPHC is taking the month of December to review some of the Capital Projects our Commission has invested in over the last three years.
The Stennis International Airport and Airpark has seen approximately $10.5 Million in Capital Project improvements over the last 3 years, with a completion of over 10 major projects. Some of these capital improvement activities include the completion of major runway improvements for KHSA, Site preparation for our Masterplanning and development efforts, and our recently completed wayfinding signage project.
Stennis International Airport and Airpark is scheduled to complete $27.5 Million worth of capital improvement plans over the next few years, including major development and transformational projects, such as: Spaceport licensing through the Federal Air Administration (FAA), Masterplanning efforts, and an Assault Landing Strip, which is designed as a parallel runway, with multiple uses, to include certifying C-130s and C-17s, unmanned aerial systems, and an integral piece to the future Spaceport operations at Stennis International Airport.
With over $10.5 Million in completed capital improvements over the last 3 years, Hancock County is seeing important growth and development in the Airpark, including the recent groundbreaking of Pearl River Community College's announced Phil Bryant Aerospace & Aviation Technology Academy, which is estimated to bring nearly 40,000 sq ft of instructional capacity right here in our own backyard.
