PHI, Inc. Chooses Stennis International Airport for Gulf of Mexico Contingency Operations Base

Hancock County, Miss. (August 28, 2015) — The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission is proud to announce that PHI, Inc., has chosen Stennis International Airport as a location to support contingency operations for major oil and gas customer evacuations due to tropical weather in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission owns and operates Stennis International Airport (KHSA), an 1,800 acre airport and airpark featuring an 8,500-foot. grooved and lighted runway equipped to handle the world’s largest aircraft.  With easy access to Mississippi Highway 603 and Interstate 10 and a Foreign Trade Zone designation, Stennis International Airport’s multiple available industrial sites offer an expanding locus of opportunity for domestic and foreign direct investment in the aviation and aerospace sectors.
